Deer Mom and Deer Dad and Deer Herd,
We had a wonderful week. We got to visit with a lot of our investigators and teach them, too. We had our mission president come teaching with us. We went to a lesson with this lady that is a single mother. She started with the feeling of "I am comfortable at my church", but then expressed the feeling of knowing that there was one true church, but didn't know which one it was. Having Pres. Weston was great. He said exactly the right things and we left with her wanting to know for herself if the Book of Mormon is true. We were also told by one of our investigators that she wanted to be baptized. We hadn't met with her for a while. Then she called us up and had us over and told us that she has asked her father-in-law to baptize her.
On Saturday evening we were teaching this guy Tommy and his family. He has really been doing good and loving it but he told us he was going to go to a different church. It made my stomach sick. The church is super anti. So we were kind of depressed on New Years Eve. When we were at church, at the last minute, he walked in. He said God told him not to go to the other church. Yes. Oh, and more good news...
Well, that was our week. Transfers have come and gone and Elder McCollough and I are staying in the Auburn 2 ward. So yup. Love ya and I know that God does watch over us. The Atonement is real. I have learned a lot about the sacrament and its power lately. The Atonement can truely set us free.
Love all y'all.
Love,
Elder Hurst
